Damp concerns in a building are assessed with professional experience and the use of appropriate equipment, including electronic moisture meters. We use the Protimeter ® Survey Master SM instrument with both contact probes for surface measurement and radio scanning for assessing moisture behind surfaces. We also use the Tramex ® Moisture Encounter Plus radio scanning moisture meter which has advantages over the Protimeter in some applications.
There can be differing remedies for damp depending on the type of construction and the damp situation. We give advice and recommendations on appropriate action. At times, the problem may be something other than rising salt damp or there may be an underlying moisture issue rather than just a failure of the damp proof course (or lack of one).
We do not do salt damp treatments so you can be assured that the advice offered is from a professional point of view rather than wonder if it is connected with getting "follow-on" work.

Fees
Fees are based on a charge-out rate of A$200 per hour plus GST for inspection, report writing & consultation time, and for any time associated with builder liaison. There is a minimum charge of A$350* plus GST per site visit. Most damp assessments & reports are done within two hours. Travel is not charged for if the site is within 30 minutes travel time from our base - travel charges may apply elsewhere.
* A surcharge applies for inspections on weekends, public holidays & after normal working hours.
